Costa Blanca Tour Services is collaborating with Marco Polo Expediciones to bring you the first edition of:
Benidorm on Foot · The City You’ve Never Been Told About
This is not intended to be a conventional tourist walking tour.
Instead, we want to invite you to become, for one afternoon, a tourist in your own home town.
Walk through streets you may have crossed hundreds of times. Stop in front of buildings you have always seen. Look again at corners you normally pass without thinking. Listen to stories, discover curiosities and learn more about the people who have helped shape Benidorm.
Because a city is not understood only through its buildings.
It is also understood through the people who have lived it.

Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the start so the group can be organised, radio guides can be distributed and the experience can begin on time.

The experience will start and finish at the same location, making it easy to organise your arrival and return.

The aim is to offer an accessible experience for residents of Benidorm, people from the Marina Baixa, visitors from the province of Alicante and anyone who feels curious about the city.
For just €9, you can enjoy an experience lasting approximately two and a half hours that includes an official tour guide, individual radio guide, stories, curiosities, different stops, possible special interventions, a group photograph and a few surprises that we prefer not to reveal just yet.

This experience is designed to help you look at Benidorm with fresh eyes.
👣 Become a Tourist in Your Own Town for an Afternoon
Benidorm is one of the best-known tourist cities in Europe, but sometimes the people who live nearby are the ones who spend the least time really discovering it.
We pass through it.
We walk.
We drive.
We work.
We meet friends.
We shop.
We stop for a drink.
But we rarely stop to ask what happened here, who lived there, why a street changed or what Benidorm was like before becoming the city we know today.
On 16 October, we want to change that.
We want to invite you to walk slowly, listen, ask questions, discover and be surprised.

One of the most special elements of this first edition will be:

Because we do not simply want to tell you about Benidorm.
We want you to listen to Benidorm.
During the route, we aim to include short contributions from people connected with the city’s history, culture, commerce, tourism, institutions and social life.
People who may share:

✔ Different perspectives on Benidorm
These contributions will be short, informal and integrated naturally into the experience.
Some of these voices may be announced before the event.
Others may remain a surprise until the day itself.
The main experience will take place regardless of whether any particular invited guest is ultimately able to participate.
🗣️ Benidorm Told by People Who Know Benidorm
We want to move away from an experience based only on dates and historical facts.
Of course, we will talk about history.
But we also want to listen, talk, remember, compare and connect.
Because the history of a city is not only written in books.
It can be found in its streets.
In old photographs.
In local businesses.
In traditions.
In families.
In the people who watched Benidorm grow.
And in the people who continue to shape the city today.
🎧 An Individual Radio Guide for Every Participant
Every participant will receive their own individual radio guide system.
This will allow you to listen comfortably to the official guide and to any special guests who may take part during the route.
You will not need to stand right next to the guide all the time.
The guide will not need to shout.
You will be able to walk, look around and keep a comfortable distance while continuing to hear the explanations clearly.
Each participant will have their own system throughout the experience.
This is one of the elements that will make the activity much more comfortable, particularly with a group of up to 50 people.
🧭 What Will We Discover?
The route is based on Marco Polo Expediciones’ regular Benidorm a Pie experience, adapted especially for this first edition.
Over approximately two and a half hours, we will walk, observe, stop, listen and discover different areas of the city.
Among them:
🏘️ Benidorm Old Town
We will explore traditional streets and discover the Benidorm that existed before the great tourism boom.
We will talk about its evolution, its maritime character and how a small Mediterranean town became one of Europe’s best-known holiday destinations.
⚓ Benidorm’s Maritime Past
Before hotels, skyscrapers and international tourism, there was a very different Benidorm.
We will discover part of its relationship with the sea, its traditions, its way of life and the stories that help explain the city’s identity.
🏰 The Former Castle Area
We will visit one of the most emblematic parts of Benidorm and explore its past, while looking at how this area has changed over the years.
🌅 Viewpoints and Panoramic Views
We will stop to look at the landscape, observe the city from a different perspective and better understand how it has grown.
Sometimes, simply changing the place from which we look is enough to begin understanding a city differently.
🏛️ The Old and New Town Halls
We will talk about the administrative, urban and social transformation of Benidorm, connecting different periods and explaining how the city has had to adapt to extraordinary growth.
🌳 L’Aigüera Park
We will walk through one of Benidorm’s major urban spaces and discuss its role in the city, its architecture and its connection with the development of the town centre.
🐂 The Bullring Area
Another stop that will allow us to talk about entertainment, culture, urban transformation and how public spaces change as the needs of a city evolve.
🏙️ Benidorm’s Tourism Transformation
One of Benidorm’s greatest stories is its ability to transform itself.
During the route, we will connect the past with the present to understand how the city grew, planned, built, innovated and adapted.
We will talk about tourism.
Urban planning.
People.
Decisions.
Social change.
And small stories that help explain a remarkable transformation.
We do not want to give you a history lesson.
We want to tell stories, talk, surprise you and spark curiosity.

We are not going to reveal everything.
We are preparing possible contributions, collaborations and small details that we will gradually reveal.
Some may be announced before the event.
Others may remain a surprise until the experience itself.
We want each stop to have the possibility of offering something different.
And we would also like you to take home a small reminder of this first edition.
