Requena is located in the westernmost part of the Province of Valencia, approximately one hour from the capital. Requena was born in the Iberian era. It grew up with the Romans and it was with the Arabs when it acquired its current name with the name of “Rakana”, “the fort”. Later with the Christians it was called Requena.It is one of the largest cities in the province of Valencia. With an extensive area dedicated to the cultivation of the grapevine and with a wine “Denomination of Origin”.
